Godzilla!! Raah!!

What can't I say about Godzilla? The first movie I saw was Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla II, but I was very aware of the Godzilla franchise as a whole long before watching the movie...

All the way back into elementary school, I once knew a kid who was completely, irrevocably obsessed with Godzilla. He was the textbook definition of a fanatic. He also was the only kid within walking distance to my house, so I spent a lot of time hanging out with him. When we weren't playing outside and pretending FNAF was real, we were inside and looking at his Godzilla figure collection in his basement bedroom. I remember those figures being incredibly detailed and huge, and it wasn't just a few figures, no. He had King Ghidorah, Burning Godzilla, Rodan, Destoroyah, Mothra, Battra..virtually anything from the Heisei era. At the time I admittedly found it a little annoying because he would get mad when I would respond with something that wasn't about Godzilla.

Sometime before middle school he moved away, and I haven't spoken to or seen him since. During the summer before starting high school, I decided to try out watching Godzilla. I had heard him talk about it so endlessly, surely it must be good. And it truly was! The Heisei era was definitely his favorite, and I can for sure see why- I'll elaborate on that a little later. That kid, despite being the largest influence of this interest, was often pretty rude to me. He was very bossy and wouldn't share toys when I'd share my Minecraft figures with him. Even though I didn't like him that much, he was still my friend. I am more than certain that I wouldn't be as interested in Godzilla nearly as much if it weren't for him. He told me about Godzilla creepypastas and that they were real. That's veracity at its finest.
